The origin of Aran Sweaters

Aran Sweaters, like the ones from Shamrock Gift are an extremely popular type of sweater for men in the UK. These sweaters have a very distinct look about them, which can either be very gruffy, or very relaxed depending upon how you wear them. They are perfect to wear during the coldest days of winter, yet still look very stylish and cool in the summer months when you want to wear something that is more comfortable and warmer.

The Aran sweater is also a very unique style of sweater, which takes its name from the Aran islands off the western coast of Ireland. Most Aran wool sweaters are white in color, with some occasional cable designs on the back and feet. The cables are actually small decorative stitches, which give the sweater its unique style. This was added by the wives of the fishermen who wore them.

Many people who live on the western seaboard of Ireland, where Aran Sweaters can be found regularly, swear by them. The main reason for this popularity is because they have a very unique look. Many people find the cable stitches to be rather attractive, especially when worn with the wool socks that many people wear on these islands. Irish wool sweaters are also a great alternative to fleece or any other material which may prove to be cold in the damp climates experienced by fishermen.
