Beautiful Spring Walks in Dartmoor

Spring is a great time of the year to get outdoors and connect with nature – the birdsong starts to become louder, the flowers are starting to bloom and despite the fact that the weather in the UK is famously unpredictable, the longer hours of daylight and the re-emergence of the flora and fauna makes this time of the year a great time to go on a walk and enjoy nature.

One of the most beautiful and wild parts of the country is Dartmoor national park – home to a vast array of wildlife and a beautiful and varied landscape, there are plenty of lovely walks that you can enjoy here.

Make sure that you are prepared for all that the weather can throw at you – warm clothing like this Irish sweater for men https://www.shamrockgift.com/aran-sweaters/mens-aran-sweaters/ as well as waterproofs and wellies to keep you dry are necessary at this time of the year!

Here are three great places to explore and walk in Dartmoor this spring…

The Teign Gorge – A woodland walk that is alive with wildlife along the beautiful banks of the river Teign. Look out for waterfowl like the dipper and of course the blue flash of a kingfisher as it streaks past.

Emsworthy Nature Reserve – If you want to hear the familiar spring call of the Cuckoo, a bird that has been declining in numbers for years sadly, then this is a great place to visit to hear the distinctive call of these special birds.

Becky Falls – If you want to enjoy the woodlands as well as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Devon, then head here- this is especially spectacular after heavy rain, so get the wellies ready!
